In a nutshell

Ticinella is part of the "Orior Group" a renowned Swiss manufacturer in Premium Convenience Food. Ticinella stands for authentic, local Ticino specialities, which are strongly rooted in the region due to their recipes, production, maturing locations or local ingredients. Ticinella products are made with great care and skill, and reflect the passion and pride of the mastri salumieri and their love of local tradition.

The challenge

The brand wanted to completely redesign their packaging and brand presence into a new and modern look without forgetting the brand's strong association with the region. Also the product range consists of over 10 different meat products packed in different shapes and sizes.

  • creating a redesign of the packaging without forgetting the brand's strong association with the region (e.g. using the colors of the Ticino's flag)
  • product informations must fit on all packaging sizes without breaking out of the newly created Corporate Design

The idea

With Ticinella, everyone can experience the characteristic ambience of a typical grotto: a cosy place where you can get together with good friends, relax and enjoy the incomparable Ticino specialities.

Before/After

The new logo has a modern look while keeping its roots (e.g. color and shape). To create the stamp look of the new logo, one of my co-workers and I actually stamped hundreds of logos and chose the best to convert them into a digital format.

The new packaging design reflects the manufacturing tradition of the brand, just like a manufacturer had written down all the information in a hurry. It creates a feeling of a perfectly imperfect design which shows the top-quality specialities and laid-back way of life of Ticino.
To give an even greater impression of handmade I created small scribbles for each product. They provide either more information about the origin of the product or lets the customer experience the Ticino eating culture with its typical grottos.
